In a recent interview, OpenAI's CEO Sam Altman confirmed that the company is not training GPT-5 at the moment. Now let's take a look at a clip that surfaced online in which Mr. Altman gives the exact details of how OpenAI is training GPT-4 and what is currently going on with GPT-5.
Now as you just heard, Sam Altman clearly discusses the role that GPT-5 will play in the next level of AI evolution. He also says that he will do all he can to ensure that this AI will be released safely. The safety features surrounding AI were also brought up recently in an open letter which called for a pause in the development of AI models more advanced than GPT-4. "We call on all labs to immediately pause for at least six months before training AI systems more powerful than GPT-4".
